Health visitors
A health visitor is a registered nurse who has received training particularly related to babies, children and pregnant women. Their role is to provide families with children under five years old with support and advice around the general aspects of mental, physical and social wellbeing.

There are limited community physiotherapy services locally at Long Stratton Community Care Centre, Flowerpot Lane, Long Stratton; Heathgate Surgery, Poringland or, if necessary, in your home.
Dietitian
Following referral, the community dietitian can be seen at the Old Mill Surgery in Poringland.
District nurses
We have a team of attached district nurses who can be contacted via the surgery for home nursing help and advice.
Community services
The community chiropodist, speech therapist, occupational therapist, psychologist, psychiatric nurses and volunteers’ coordinator can all provide services locally and can be contacted by telephoning the community care group office at Long Stratton on 01508 531175 or through the surgery.
Social services
Social workers and the home care organiser can be contacted by telephoning the Norwich office on 0844 800 8014 or through the surgery.
