Patient Participation Group

The group was founded in June 2011 with the aim of bringing the patients and Practice closer together, striving to offer the best possible service to all patients registered in this Practice. It consists of 15 members of which the following were voted in as:

  • John Joyce – Chairman
  • Daphne Littleboy – Secretary
  • Elaine Bounds – Treasurer

All members are patients of the Practice with about 50% generally attending the Poringland site and 50% at Hempnall.

If anyone is interested in joining the virtual group, please email oldmill.millgates@nhs.net and address the enquiry to either Sarah Harris or David Leigh.

The group meets on average every two months and holds open evenings when all patients are invited to attend. Come along to the open evenings to listen to the speakers arranged by the PPG or, in a general open meeting, come along to let us know what you would like from the PPG and Surgery generally.

New Members

We are always looking for new members. The group meets between 19:00 and 20:30, about every two months. This time was chosen so that patients working or attending school can come and we start and finish promptly so that carers and parents can arrange cover for that time. Everyone is welcome and it helps us to have the views of patients from a wide variety of backgrounds. The meetings are normally in one of the surgeries or a local village hall so there is disabled access.

If you would like to join or just attend one meeting to see what it is like, then contact David Leigh on 01508 492929 to get the date and venue of the next meeting.

You can learn more about the role of PPG’s at www.napp.org.uk.
